Interested in exploring how religious communities are using social media to connect with people? There’s lots going on, and this is the focus of our meeting in September.
Join us for our panel on “Religion, Spirituality and Social Media”.
We’ll talk about how social media affects how people relate, its effect on religious communities, how it has changed the way religious message are communicated, and/or how various religious communities are using social media to connect with people.
We’ve got a great panel to lead this discussion:
Venerable Eshu Martin (Abbot) is the guiding force behind the Victoria Zen Centre. You can read more about him here: http://www.zenwest.ca/practice_council.htm. He tweets as @Eshusan and @VictoriaZen.
Nick Johnson from Saanich Baptist Church. He has his own media company, Hey You! Media!, and runs social media activities for the church. He tweets as @itsHeyyoumedia, @nicktheviking as well as @SaanichBaptist
Mark Wagner, lead pastor at Westsong Community Church in Langford and Metchosin. Here is a link to their website and Facebook page.
Each panelist will offer their insights on this topic, and we’ll then have some lively discussion.
